The sole mission of the Georgia Association of Public Plan Trustees® is to promote education for public retirement plan fiduciaries. With this singular focus, the organization continues to enhance its professional designations by offering multi-accredited educational programs to its members.

The Certified Retirement Plan Fiduciary™ (CRPF™) designation, established in 2014, is tailored for public retirement plan trustees and staff. Specifically designed to address the six required educational areas outlined in the Georgia Code, this comprehensive two-year program provides a robust educational foundation for both new and experienced members.

New for 2026, the Defined Contribution Plan Fiduciary™ (DCPF™) program has been developed to deliver comprehensive education for professionals responsible for administering public-sector defined contribution plans, including 401(a), 457, and 403(b) plans. Open to members of all experience levels, the DCPF™ designation offers significant value as a standalone credential or as a complement to the CRPF™ designation.

CAFD LogoComing in 2027! The Certified Advanced Fiduciary Designation™ (CAFD™) is being developed specifically for experienced trustees and plan staff members seeking to deepen their expertise. This advanced program offers an in-depth exploration of the six core educational areas—Applicable Laws; Trustee Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities; Ethics; Plan Governance and Administration; Investments; and Actuarial Principles—culminating in a comprehensive case study that allows participants to apply key concepts. Offered as a hybrid course, with both online and in-person sessions, this interactive experience will be available exclusively to active CRPF™ designees. 

Information about the new CAFD™ designation will be available in the summer of 2026.

State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
