Current Plan Sponsor "Key Members" and Affiliate members will receive their renewal reminder in early November. An opportunity to join the organization or renew a membership will be available on all 2026 event registration forms. MEMBERSHIP TYPES: PLAN SPONSOR MEMBERSHIP is open to all individuals who are currently serving as a director, trustee, or staff member of a public retirement system.
AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP is open to individuals who have expressed an interest in the association and its mission, but who do not fall within the definition of Plan Sponsor or Emeritus member. Individuals employed by actuarial, consulting, custodial, legal, third-party plan administration, and investment management firms are considered Affiliate members.
EMERITUS MEMBERSHIP is open to individuals who previously qualified as a Plan Sponsor member, but are no longer active as a trustee or plan staff member. Emeritus members cannot be employed with an entity serving the retirement community, such as an actuarial, consulting, custodial, legal, third-party plan administration, or investment management firm.
The Georgia Association of Public Plan Trustees® is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.NASBARegistry.org.
