Membership in the GAPPT provides benefits including reduced tuition costs for attendance at our annual conference held in late Spring each year. In addition, all members will have access to a member directory, online access to newsletters and education, and a forum for valuable exchanges of information regarding the challenges and responsibilities of pension plan management and oversight in the world of public pension funds.

Membership in the GAPPT is established in one of three categories:

Regular Members are those persons who are currently serving as a director or trustee (regular or “ex officio”) of a board of a public pension plan or who are currently serving as administrators of a public pension plan. Regular Members shall pay Tier 1 dues.

Emeritus Members are those persons who, except for retirement, would qualify as Regular Members AND do not have an occupation with an entity that specifically serves the pension community (such as an investment manager, actuary, consultant, law firm, etc.). Emeritus Members shall pay Tier 2 dues.

Affiliate Members are other persons who have expressed an interest in the Association and its purposes, but who do not fall within the definition of "Regular Member" or "Emeritus Member." Affiliate Members shall not vote and shall not hold office. Affiliate Members shall pay Tier 3 dues.

Regular Members and Emeritus Members with no delinquent dues owed to the Association shall be entitled to vote and shall be entitled to hold office and serve on a Committee of the Board. Affiliate Members shall not be eligible to vote, shall not be eligible to hold office, but may be eligible to serve on a Committee of the Board.
